I scheduled an appointment with Emerald Lawn Care to get a quote for lawn services. Their sales representative no-call, no-showed twice. I can understand missing the first appointment, things happen. However, missing a second scheduled appointment without any call, text, or follow-up is extremely unprofessional. My time is valuable, and basic communication should be the bare minimum when working with potential customers. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I cannot recommend their service.

Updated my previous review (5 stars) to a 1-star review. Long story short: Avoid this company. First of all, the product and the people applying it are not certified. They burned my grass because the technician applied too strong a concentration of crabgrass killer, which also damaged other plants I have—grapevines and raspberry bushes. Their service manager came to inspect the lawn and claimed the issue wasn’t due to the chemicals, but rather that the problem was caused by my mower tractor—even though the blades are sharpened every spring. Very disappointed and very unprofessional. When I asked for their business insurance information, they refused to provide it. I will submit a complaint to the Illinois Attorney General’s Office and the Better Business Bureau, especially because of the damage to my 3-year-old plants. Gary, the service manager, told me, “It’s just a plant” 😡—an incredibly disrespectful and dismissive response. I’ll leave pictures here so you can make the right decision. If it hasn’t happened to you yet, you’re lucky—but I recommend avoiding this company and cancel the service. For context: this happened in the middle of May, when the grass is green everywhere else, but my lawn looks terrible.

This is my second time posting about their services, and we’ve been consistently impressed by their responsiveness and attentiveness to our needs. For instance, after we mentioned the weeds in our backyard, they’ve diligently worked with us to manage them and set a schedule for rebuilding a weed-free lawn. Eric, the lawn care technician, is exceptionally attentive while performing liquid aeration and reseeding. His extensive knowledge and expertise in lawn care truly impressed us. My lawn, after many seasons of treatment with them, is full of weeds. We asked to be notified when the technician was on the way, so we could speak with them, but were not notified. We are very disappointed.
